Restyled Sundays #55

Welcome Back To Restyled Sundays!

Wow, another week slipped by and I did not post once.
I had such great intentions, but I have to realize that I can only do
what I can do. We have some great finds that I can't wait to share from
our daughters house makeover. But, this week ever spare minute went
to painting, painting, and more painting. Add working four days this week
and you can see why there were no extra posts :(.

I really was excited to see the great projects and finds that you all shared
this week at Restyled Sundays. I wish I could feature you all, but I will
just do a few of my favorites.
This amazing, incredible and totally cool staircase
was hand painted by This Green House.
Be sure to check out the hidden surprise that they built in.
What a beautiful furniture makeover!
This kidney bean desk is from CreateInspire and it
completely modernized this old piece.
I am a sucker for mannequins, so this one from
The Refeathered Roost  really caught my eye.
And finally, Something Created Everyday shared her
Perfect Thrifting Day. She really hit the jackpot with
these blocks and lots of other goodies.

I am so excited to see so many new faces here. You all have
some fabulous blogs and I love getting to see them.
Now let's see what you have to share this week.

A Sweet Pink Vanity

A few months ago I bought this adorable desk/ vanity from another dealer who was clearancing it out.  It almost seemed a sin to paint over this beautiful maple, but it had so much potential if I did.

The two features I fell in love with on this piece, were the knobs and the twisted trim.
It always amazes me how much a few little details can really make a piece.

So, here is the finished product. I wanted the palest pink I could find, and yet I already had
so many pinks that I hated to go buy another one. With enough white paint
added in I was able to mix my own and come up with the perfect shade.

Some mild distressing to give it that vintage look.

I really love the style of the mirror.

How perfect would this look in a girls room?
If you live in Kansas City, check it out at Lone Elm Antique Mall in Olathe.

My First Chalk Paint Project

I am so bad about taking before pictures. I know I am not the only one who does this, but it is so frustrating.  Any way, this is all you get of the before pic, because I had already painted the drawers! My daughter and I found this lovely little desk at Sal's Army a few months ago. I originally was going to use it in my son's room that I was redoing, but ultimately decided it was too feminine. Plus, I found one that was perfect for him.
It has bow front drawers that make it so unique.

So here is after. I used Paris Grey Chalk Paint. It was so wonderful to not have to prime. Maybe even better was not having to sand like crazy before I started. I did love the chalk paint, but I already learned some lessons on the first piece.  When everyone says it gets
thick and you need to add water, they know what they are talking about. I just had a hard
time adding water at first, but once I did it was so much easier to work with.! It went on so
nice and smooth.
Of course I had to give her a matching chair. I just happen to have a few extras to choose from.
I love her simple but shapely legs.

The top side drawers are so interesting. They start out flat and bow out to match the lower drawers.

I used the original hardware and spray painted it with Krylon's Oil Rubbed Bronze.

So there she is! You can see her in person at Sentimental Journey Antique Mall
in Olathe, KS. if you live close by.

I love to hear from you and thanks for visiting.

Monday's Treasures- This and That

Today I thought I would take a break from my attic treasures and show you some things I found while out thrifting. I had to go do some shopping this week, a girl can't stay out of the thrift stores forever!

I found this adorable cloche at the antique mall that I sell at.
It is actually made out of a glass candle holder with a cute little bird glued on, I may have to try this myself.
(Yes, I am supposed to be selling things there, but I can't resist some of the great buys there.)

There is a new thrift store in the same shopping center as Lone Elm Antique Mall, and I found this adorable cigar box purse there. What a cute 50's vintage print on this one.
This amazing frame was just sitting there waiting for me when I walked into the Salvation Army store.
It was marked $30, but it was 25% off of all pictures and frames that day!

I actually bought this desk several weeks ago at another thrift store in town. We set it in the booth until we had enough space at home to paint it.  It sold before we had the chance.
Finally this weekend, I took my mom to a couple of estate sales and she bought a whole bunch of great pieces for the booth. This hand painted side table is so sweet.
l
She also found a pair of these adorable vintage chairs with the embossed seat. They are in perfect condition.
They came with a cute little ice cream table that I will get a picture of next time I am at the booth.

Thanks for visiting. I love all of your sweet comments.
