Restyled Sundays #41

Welcome Back to Restyled Sundays!

It has been another busy week, but I think we are beginning to feel human again.
We haven't even begun to dig our way out of the storerooms yet, but a little rest has done us
all alot of good. My brother headed back to California and I really miss him. I cannot imagine
getting through these multiple moves without his help! Tomorrow is Father's Day
and I am so blessed to still have my father here to share it with. He will be 90 in September,
so I will cherish each holiday with him.

I want to share the things I picked up at the only antique mall I made it to on our vacation.
We were in Harrisonburg, VA and I found an antique mall to wander through. They had so many
great things in there, but this is all I came out with.
I love this little poodle salt and pepper shaker set!

I already had a set like this, and did not realize they didn't match
until I took this picture.  I think they are so cute someone else might enjoy them.

My grandfather always had one of these folding rulers in his pocket.
There are so many cute things you can do with these.

I know you can't see the embossing on this bottle, but it
says Stars and Stripes forever.

And, you know how much I love blue and white. this little
cup was only 3.00 and I could not resist.

Now, let's see what you all shared this week. My favorites are...

Miranda at Pressing On took a little bit of ASCP and created
a beautiful side table.
handiest husband who made this cabinet to replace their kitchen desk.

You have to see how this garden shed used to look!
Kathe with and e and her husband moved and updated it.

This little cabinet is now a fireside beauty thanks to
Suttons Daze. Be sure to check out the before.

Now let's see what you have been up to this week.
Thanks in advance for linking up!

Restyled Sundays #34

Welcome Back to Restyled Sundays

Well once again, this party is late getting started. We have been out of town this weekend and just got back, so I wanted to get the party started even though it is late. We went to see my father-in-law who will be celebrating his 91st birthday tomorrow. He is truly amazing, still living on his own and very active.  He plays the saxaphone in a jazz band, and he plays every single day!

Let's see what you all shared last week.
I love the restyling of this pair of end tables by
this cute garden trellis from scratch.
The Joyful Thrifter always finds the greatest stuff.
I love these 70's crewel designs.

Again, thanks for sharing. I hope to see you all again this week.

Monday's Treasures - Vintage Aprons

Whoops, it's Tuesday morning and I am just now posting Monday's Treasures. I have been completely lost in my basement for days and days. I am painting furniture like a crazy woman and rearranging my sewing and craft area in between posts.
I am so excited to show you the collection of aprons that came from my in-laws attic. I know aprons have become very popular again, but these are the real deal from the 50's and 60's.
Of course, my favorite first. This turquoise and purple half apron with flowers in the checks is so cute. I love the rick rack trim along the edge.
This lovely pink half apron with deep floral pockets is the most feminine one in the bunch. I can truly see my mother-in-law wearing this.
This cute yellow apron has a matching bib and pocket. It is very faded so it must have been a daily favorite.
This cute apron his and hers set is decorated with a kitschy 50's print of food and kitchen sayings.
A close-up of the cute print.
His apron to match. How cute these would have been to wear while hosting a casual cook out.
( Yes his is on my girly maniquin:)
Here is a fancier hostess apron. It is made of black tulle with pink satin ribbon and rick rack trim.
A little hard to see, but there is a cute black poodle on the side. I never realized how hard it is to photograph tulle. And last but not least it a very special Christmas apron. It is a sheer red with flocked wreaths and candles.
I hope you enjoyed seeing this fun collection. I love them all. I will be sharing at the following parties: Apron Thrift Girl

A Weekend Without Thrifting

I didn't get a chance to go out thrifting this weekend. I always get withdrawal symptoms if I don't get into at least one thrift store over the weekend, but I did find something in my own basement that filled the bill. I had a box that I kept putting off opening that my mother had packaged up several years ago. It was marked linens.I thought it was old sheets and didn't really want to go through it. But, I was truly surprised when I did open it. It was really linens!
It looked something like this after I rummaged through it a little.
There were tablecloths, napkins, tea towels and dresser scarves, oh my!
I was in heaven with all of the vintage goodies,
all made by my great grandmother.
Take a look at some of my favorites after I washed and pressed them.
This beautiful little tea towel has hand embroidered flowers inside the outline of a tulip.
Another tea towel with a floral spray.
Satin stitched laurel wreath on a linen tea towel.
Hand crocheted edging on a pillowcase.
A pair of cross stitched tea towels with a basket of flowers.
A monogrammed tea towel with a subtle yellow border.
Can you imagine drying dishes with towels like these?
I can't, but I know there are plenty of people who would love to
have them in their Shabby Chic kitchen,
so watch for them in my Etsy shop.
