The Definition of a Coffee Table

Thanks for stopping by to see what I am up to.
Don't forget to show me your stuff at Restyled Sundays linky
party every Sunday. There is probably one in progress now.

About two years ago, I stopped at a garage sale late one day and bought this coffee table and two end tables. Since it was late, he gave me all three for $5. I couldn't pass that up then, and probably not now, even though I am on a buying hiatus (so to speak). The other two tables have long ago been refinished and
sold, but this one just sat in the basement waiting for some love.
I painted it grey and really wanted to do something fun with the top.

A few dictionary pages and some Mod Podge and it was looking pretty cool.

I decided to add some of the larger illustrations on top of the rest.
I think it has a shabby chic vibe to it.

Wouldn't this make a fun conversation starter?

I hope someone else loves it as much as I do. Its for sale
at Lone Elm Antiques in Olathe, Kansas.

Book Page Bulletin Board

One thing I always have plenty of in my stash is old pictures from garage sales.

Who knows when you will need a frame for something.
So, I decided to use one of these to make a bulletin board.
I actually made this one back about Halloween when I was
going Mod Podge crazy with book page pumpkins.
I cut up small pieces of dictionary pages and overlapped them
while gluing them on the frame with Mod Podge.

I love doing this kind of stuff while I am watching TV with my
hubby at night.  He hates it if I go to the basement to paint furniture, so
these smaller projects keep us together.:)
Happy Hubby, Happy (something that rhymes with that)
I then cut down a cork board that I had bought at another garage sale and wallah!

Another fun project to sell at the antique mall.
Thanks for visiting and be sure to add your projects at
Restyled Sundays, still going on until Friday at midnight.

Chic Party Tray and Ice Bucket

I am pretty excited with how this set turned out. It started with your typical plastic 'woodgrained' ice bucket from Goodwill or Savers. Add in a very dated tray, it was a not so cute 80's wood tray with a 'Welcome Guests' theme. Sorry, no picture on that one, but I'm sure you can imagine it. I took some damask tissue paper that I found at Wal-Mart and Mod Podged it right on the bucket. I painted the tray black and cut tissue paper to fit the center and Mod Podged it on to the tray. A couple of layers later and I had this great little chic party tray and matching ice bucket.
Wow, what an improvement on this tray!
I am ready for a party!
Bring on the ice cubes! Linking to these parties: UndertheTableandDreaming
