Restyled Sundays #50

Welcome Back to Restyled Sundays

It's so great to be back and get on a schedule again. I was talking yesterday to a friend about
how much we love January!  There is not alot going on, it's a time to reflect and reorganize. And, what better timing than after a crazy, busy, holiday like Christmas. I love Christmas, but I am so glad when it
is over and all cleaned up and put away.

January is definitely a time for refreshing our homes. Once we put all of those decorations away,
things can look a little bare and we feel the need to update. The owner of one of the antique stores
I am in told me along time ago, that January is the month to sell furniture. I guess she is right, because
I sold two dressers and a vanity this week!

Yeah, we always love a good furniture month.

So, now I am getting new projects finished to refresh the booth. I have
a buffet with hutch just about ready to go, can't wait to share with you.

The only before picture I can find is the dark cabinet in the background.
But now, I really want to see what you have been up to!

Restyled Sundays #49

Welcome Back to Restyled Sundays!

Another fast week has flown by and we are actually in Texas today as I write this.
My husband has an older 928 Porsche and we like to go to gatherings in various
parts of the country. This time it is the Texas Hill Country, actually Marble Falls, TX
It is north of Austin, southwest of Dallas. It is beautiful in a different way.

My heart has truly been with the people in the Northeast this week, trying to
survive the devastation of Sandy. I pray for them all and for the families that have
lost loved ones.

Thanks to those of you who did share last week!
I love this shabby chair makeover by Shabby Gals
Just check out those cute little wheels.

boring little cabinet at a garage sale and turned it into this adorable cabinet.

And Helen from Shades of Safhire crocheted this adorable Mickey Mouse
hat for her niece. I wish I had learned to crochet!

Thanks again for sharing. I hope you all have some fun things to share this week

Restyled Sundays #47

Welcome Back To Restyled Sundays!

Wow! I actually made it back to start the party!  The other day I mentioned my newest grandchild
would be coming any day, well she actually came that night.
Alaina Jean was born at 3:45 am on Tuesday, October 16th.
She weighed in at 6lbs 13oz and was only 18" long.  She is a
sweet little petite angel. Her big brother is crazy about her already,
as well as mom and dad and all of the rest of us. I am a redhead and so is her father
(I had 3 redheads and 3 brunettes) and she has a hint of red in her hair.
We are so excited to say the least!

My daughter and I made her bedding and just got it done last week.
Had to take these pics with my IPhone. I hope to get some good pictures this weekend.
Still have to finish the window treatments, so I hope to get those done this week.

I do want to feature my favorite project from our last party.
Shabby Gals shared this vintage wheel turned picture frame.
How sweet would this look in Alaina Jeans room?
I may just have to find something like this to copy.
Now let's get the party started!!

Restyled Sundays #40

Welcome Back to Restyled Sundays!

Whew, we are almost done with my mom's house. A few hours today and we will
officially be out. Two storage units later, and after a few days rest, we will begin sorting.
I can't wait to share some of the treasures and furniture makeovers to come. I feel
like it has been months since I have had a paintbrush in my hands.

For now, I want to thank everyone for sharing at this weeks Restyled Sundays.
There a some great projects and finds this week, be sure to check them all out.
My personal favorites are:

I love anything that shares our countries flag, and Noreen posted this
magnet idea on Crafty Journal. What a fun project for kids to make this summer.

Alicia from Exquiste Delight took an outdated china cabinet
and turned it into her entertainment center. Nice job, Alicia!

Cyndi at Blue Star Antiques worked her magic again with a
combination of paints. What a beautiful piece.

I am such a sucker for anything blue and white, This is such
a beautiful stool from Monica Livas and the cat is so adorable in its place.

Hope to see you all again this week.

Restyled Sundays #34

Welcome Back to Restyled Sundays

Well once again, this party is late getting started. We have been out of town this weekend and just got back, so I wanted to get the party started even though it is late. We went to see my father-in-law who will be celebrating his 91st birthday tomorrow. He is truly amazing, still living on his own and very active.  He plays the saxaphone in a jazz band, and he plays every single day!

Let's see what you all shared last week.
I love the restyling of this pair of end tables by
this cute garden trellis from scratch.
The Joyful Thrifter always finds the greatest stuff.
I love these 70's crewel designs.

Again, thanks for sharing. I hope to see you all again this week.

Restyled Sundays #33

Welcome Back To Restyled Sundays

It has been an absolutely crazy week, as you can see from the lack of posts here.
We have been super busy at work,we have been helping our daughter get ready to list her house and have her first open house and we had our 25th reunion from dental school to celebrate. So it is now Sunday evening and I am just getting this party going.

First of all, lets see the features from last week.

This is about the coolest dresser I have seen for a teen boys room.
Check out the makeover by Ms. Bliss at Bliss Ranch.

Barbara from 21 Rosemary Lane created a beauty out of yard sale bargain.
She model it after a famous chalk paint dresser we have all seen.
Check out her blog to see the whole story.

Chelsea of The Little Red Chair created this beauty out of an old
peeling, water damaged cabinet that she found on CL.

You really need to check out the before of this dresser
turned TV console, that Helen of Picked and Painted redid.
She really knows how to make them look good!

Great job everybody! If you were featured, be sure to add the Restyled Sundays button to your blog.

Now let's see what you've got this week.

Quatrefoil Stenciled Cabinet

Once again, I can't find the before picture of this cabinet, but it was similar to the one below.
I bought three of these vintage 70's end tables at the DAV for 89 cents apiece
about two years ago. I have just had so many other projects, these got pushed
back to the end of the line.
So finally, it was time for one of them.
I painted it with a mistint from Wal-mart called brown sugar.
It looks more like latte to me, but either way it sounds yummy.

I used one of my daughters stencils, a quatrafoile one, and did the top only.
I dry brushed a burnt umber craft paint over the stencil and then sanded it down in areas.
I also distressed the paint and sprayed the hardware with oil rubbed bronze to add more contrast.
It sold the first week it was in the shop, so I apologize for not getting better pics.

I have to admit that I frequently criticize my own work alot, so it makes me
feel much better when it sells quickly.  Do you ever get that feeling that what you
have done looks stupid. I wish I could get over that.
Oh, by the way I sold it for $59.00, so that was a nice profit!

Restyled Sundays #30

Welcome Back to Restyled Sundays

I hope you all have had a great week, we are having amazing
weather in Kansas City this weekend. After a week of rain, the sun is shining
and the birds are singing. It is beautiful out! I really got a lot of work done on
Saturday, so several projects are coming your way soon.

Last week you all shared some amazing makeovers.

Angelina, from Shop Ruby Jean shared her new sewing room
with us. I have never seen anything like this.
What inspiration for those of us with a messy
unattractive sewing room.

Myric from Petite Passions made over a thrift store plaque
into a lovely place to hang her keys.

Jen from At Home In The Northwest shared her $5
fireplace makeover. It is amazing what a can of paint can do.

Barbara from 21 Rosemary Lane shared her new beadboard
backsplash. See the before at her blog. What a difference 2 hours makes.

Laura at Top This Top That stenciled the back of her bookcase
and shows how to do it. I love this subtle use of the stencils.
I'm not sure I could do a whole wall.

Thanks to all of you who shared last week.
If you were featured, be sure to grab a button on the side bar.

Now lets see what you all have been doing this week.

Black and Blue Table and Chairs

I can't believe it! I started looking through all my pictures
for the before pics and they have magically disappeared.
Usually, I just forget to take them, this time I really did take them.
So, you will just have to see the afters and they were taken with my I phone.
I have had these chairs for a while and finally got around to
painting them this beautiful mistint blue.
I just got the table a week or two ago and decided if I painted it blue also, it would be too much.
So, classic black it was. I did get to try the ASCP Clear Wax.  I had just bought
some and the amazing waxing brush. Wow, that is so nice to put the wax on with.

I sure hope someone at the antique mall likes it as much as I do.
