I actually posted this plant stand a few weeks ago, but forgot to show my inspiration, so this is an update of that post.
I finally decided to try a knock off when I found this poor sad little plant stand at a garage sale for $3.
I remembered seeing one very similar to it in last years Pottery Barn catalogue.
Obviously this was a pretty simple paint and distress project, but I am still very happy with how it turned out.
I never distress quite as much as other people do. I think I am just fighting with myself
over the paint job I just worked so hard on. Do you have trouble sanding off
too much of the paint you just put on your projects, too?
I almost forgot, don't forget the Restyled Sundays party and giveaway is still going on here!

Cute! I'm convinced white paint fixes everything! I saw a similar stand at a garage sale for $5 and I didn't buy it...I'm still kicking myself and that was almost a year ago! I could have a cute plant stand just like yours...sigh...
ReplyDeleteAnyway, stopping by from Type A!
so cute, you did a great job finishing it.
ReplyDeleteGreat makeover! I love it!

That is perfect, I love your redo and knock off.
ReplyDeleteI would distress it more personally.
ReplyDeleteYour redo looks great! The plain wood finish really looked dated. The distressed creamy finish now is lovely. I personally prefer a bit more heavy distressing but I hear you about it just seeming wrong to paint something up so nicely only to purposely ruin that flawless finish. LOL
