Garage Sale And Thrifting Finds

I was so happy to find the first garage/yard sale so far this year. It was so huge, with some great buys and the lady said to come back next week and she would have a lot more.
This adorable little desk needs a little love,
it looks like someone loved it too much with a can of red high gloss paint!

She had this cute vintage picnic basket as well.

And there is always a $2.00 chair needing some paint!
At the antique mall I found this great sled at a 1/2 price sale.
I really wanted one this year, but they were all more than I was willing to part with!
It will look so cute on my front porch next Christmas.
Another antique mall nearby is going out of business, so we had to check out their sales. Most of their dealers were way overpriced and the owner said that was the reason they were closing. I felt so bad for him. We did find a few good buys there, like this great mirror!
And these adorable vintage aprons!
An ivory Haeger ginger jar to match my black one.
I found these two Delft Blue Birthday plates. I have a Wednesday's child already, now I have the Sunday's child and Tuesday's child. I need the Thursday's child and Saturday's and I will have all of my children covered.
I am crazy about blue and white porcelain and these are for my stash.
At Goodwill and Saver's we found these great canisters.
I do have a plan for these! Some vintage Glasbake and FireKing baking dishes.
And a bunch of Campbell's Soup bowls and Thermos's.
One of the Thermos's is marked Fuel for Fitness from the 1984 Olympics.
I thought it was pretty cool!
Wow, what a weekend.
I better get to work listing some of these items and working on the others.

  2. What great stuff you found. I especially like the sledge, wish I could find one like that here. Also the plates are so sweet. What a lovely idea to collect them for your children's birth days.

  3. Now why can't I find sales like that? The sales here consist of a lot of old junk.. and when I write junk I mean J-U-N-K that should be in the dumpster! :)
