Monday's Treasures - A Rainbow of Glassware

I now own a rainbow of glassware after visiting my father-in-laws attic.  It amazes me how many different styles and colors of glassware came out of the decades from the 20's to the 50's, referred to as depression glass. The many US glass manufacturers had some serious competition going with each other and created some beautiful designs.

My favorite is the cobalt glass. I did some research on this and found that it was created by the Hazel Atlas Glass Company from Washington, PA.

This is pink depression glass. It was made by various manufacturers including Anchor Hocking and the Indiana Glass Company.

This peach opalescent glass is one of the more common depression glass shades.

I love this Royal Ruby Glass collection which began production in 1938 by Anchor Hocking Glass Co.

This is called Vaseline Glass. I'm sorry about the picture quality, but it is a very light shade of green and actually glows in a black light. Very cool stuff.

This is a very unusual piece. It is a measuring cup made of green glass. It says pat. pend. on the bottom.

Last, but not least, is this pait of toothpick holders. the right one is pressed glass which was probably pre-depression era. The left one is called Jadite. It was made by Fire-King glassware.

Alot of this glassware is going to the antique store, I wish I could keep it all, but I'm sure there are people out there who would love to add to their collections.
